Piano for Rockstars
A fun, beginner-friendly piano course for children who want to play real songs quickly
What if learning piano felt less like a formal lesson and more like joining a band?
Piano for Rockstars is a beginner music course designed to help children start playing piano in a fun, accessible and confidence-building way. Instead of beginning with classical training, sheet music or complicated music theory, the course introduces children to the simple chord progressions used in hundreds of popular songs.
Across four weekly sessions, children learn a small set of core chords, practise moving smoothly between them and begin using the piano as a tool for singing, self-expression and musical confidence.
The aim is simple: to show children that they do not need years of formal training before they can enjoy making music. By the final session, participants will be able to play and sing several favourite songs together using the chords they have learned throughout the course.

A world they can physically step into
One of the most special things about this workshop is that it blends visual art with performance.
Children do not only draw or describe the world they create; they move through it, act within it and embody its characters and stories. This makes the creative experience much more immersive. A landscape becomes a setting for play. A character becomes someone they can physically explore. A story becomes something that happens in the room.
For many children, this kind of embodied creativity feels especially joyful and natural. It allows them to think with their whole body as well as their imagination, supporting expression in ways that go beyond words.
That is what makes the workshop feel so alive: ideas become movement, images become stories and stories become shared experiences.
Imagination, Storytelling & Mixed - Media Play
This project gives children something deeply exciting: the chance to become the creators of their own imaginative universe.
Through drama, movement, drawing and craft, children begin to ask and answer questions that shape a new world from the ground up. Who lives there? What does it look like? What are its rules? What kinds of creatures or characters belong there? What stories unfold in that place?
Because these ideas come from the children themselves, the workshop feels highly engaging and personal. They are not simply following instructions or filling in a theme, they are actively building something original and meaningful together.
This gives the session a wonderful balance of structure and freedom: enough guidance to help ideas grow, but enough openness for imagination to lead.

WHAT CHILDREN WILL EXPLORE & LEARN
Saffana uses a child-led, applied theatre approach that blends drama, movement and visual art to spark imagination and self-expression.
Sessions are gently structured but guided by children’s ideas, encouraging them to build worlds, invent characters and explore stories through embodied play. Through supportive facilitation and creative games, she creates a safe, inclusive space where children develop confidence, collaboration and creative autonomy while learning through doing, moving and making.
